Passing the Olduvai Gorge which is very dry, it is well known for the work of the famous archaeological couple Leakey’s. A picnic lunch break at the Naabi Gate before starting your game drive into Serengeti.
Serengeti comes from the Maasai word Siringitu that means “endless plains”. You can see why as the grassland savannah in the south stretches to the horizon and is only interrupted by the so-called Kopjes (inselbergs). These are bizarre rock formations formed by the weathering of granite outcrops. The plains are the perfect hunting grounds for leopards and other big cats. Here you will have a chance to view these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. The open roofed vehicles allow uninterrupted views and as the day passes, you will reach the goal for the day – the Seronera Valley in the central Serengeti area
Overnight at lodge or Camp
Full day game viewing in Serengeti park
Spend all day watching wildlife in the Serengeti. The areas that you will visit will depend on where the migrating herds. Usually the wildebeest and the zebras during the short rainy season in October and November are moving from the hills in the north, to the plains in the south. During the longer rainy season of April, May and June, they return north. With fluctuations of annual rainfall, the exact location of the animals varies from year to year.
