Day 1: Kilimanjaro airport to Lake Manyara National Park
Pick up from Kilimanjaro airport then drive immediately to Manyara for overnight. This is about 3 hours’ drive from the airport. Lake Manyara national park: Manyara is a fantastic game park. The variety of habitats parallels its exceptional scenery. There are great herds of buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and several varieties of gazelle. Mahogany, sausage tree and croton area live with blue monkeys and vervet monkeys. Some of the most amazingly large pods of hippos congregate at the rivers emerging into the lake, and the birdlife is plentiful. Lake Manyara is also known for its “tree-climbing” lions.
- Pick up from Kilimanjaro/airport town through the open Maasai Steppe and up the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment arriving in time for dinner at the Safari lodge. -Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara wildlife lodge
Day 2: Lake Manyara to Central Serengeti National Park
SERENGETI: The name Serengeti comes from the Maasai language and appropriately means an endless plains. The National Park is as big as Northern Ireland, but its ecosystem, which includes the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the Maswa Game Reserve and the Maasai Mara Game reserve (in Kenya). It lies between the shores of Lake Victoria in the west, Lake Eyasi in the south, and the Great Rift Valley to the east. Rising in the southeast are the great volcanic massifs and craters of the Ngorongoro Highlands. The Serengeti plains are host to a dramatic annual migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and numerous other species of animals indigenous to the area.
- After breakfast at the Safari Lodge depart with picnic lunches to the Serengeti national park. Enjoy your game drives as you head towards your safari lodge or camp arriving late evening. -Dinner and overnight at Serengeti seronera Lodge
Day 3: Central Serengeti National Park
Full day in Serengeti: Morning and afternoon game viewing drives in the Serengeti national park. Expect to encounter various plains game e.g. zebra; buffalo, gazelle, wildebeest and other species which make this their home. The open plains is the main stage for the great wildebeest migration, an awesome spectacle involving millions of animals.
Dinner and overnight at either Serengeti Seronera lodge
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
NGORONGORO CRATER: Ngorongoro is quite unique as its physical protection from man natural beauty ranks it among the most pristine wildernesses on earth. It is regarded as a natural wonder of the world and has been declared a World Heritage Site. It is the largest intact crater in the world, being 610 meters deep, 16 kilometers across and covering an area of540 square kilometers. On the crater floor,grassland blends into swamps, lakes, rivers, woodland and mountains – all a haven for wildlife, including the greatest predator population in Africa. The volcanic crater is jam- packed with wildlife, including all the big game. Its pride and joy, however, is that it remains the last great wild refuge for black rhino. -Breakfast then depart with picnic lunches on a game viewing drive en route to Ngorongoro conservation area. After breakfast descend to the floor of the crater and have an experience of a lifetime, as you watch literary hundreds of game that Africa has to offer. Have lunch boxes by the Hippo pool, and then continue on the afternoon game viewing drives. late afternoon ascends and return to the Lodge. -Dinner and overnight at either the Ngorongoro wildlife lodge
Day 5: Depart
This morning drive back to Kilimanjaro airport to connect to their next destination.
